Personal Projects
Posted on August 8, 2007
I have undertaken several little personal test/projects in the early 2000’s which are currently active and inactive. These projects are for academic purposes or are fueled by a passion for helping people and building online communities which can aid in a personal therapeutic capacity as well as research.
- The NetExecSummit – As a founder of the NetExecSummit, two good friends and colleagues have founded an invitation only Un-Conference for Internet professionals and technology executives. Our first Un-Conference will be held in the Dallas area April 23rd and 24th 2009.
- LakeWallenpaupack.info – a VERY out-of-date experiment in Google Adsense which has proven to be a resource for users as well as generating a tiny revenue stream. Redesign and development of this property may come in the future.
- CampSycrest.org - Alumni Website for a long gone summer camp in the Poconos reaching out to former campers and staff members. This social network utilizes the Ning.com platform.
- SocialSciencesNet.com – Social Science Nets, LLC, of which I am President, along with two other talented members who are excellent developers, is a company responsible for the growth and implementation of a small social network for cancer survivors, patients, and supporters, which is currently on the backburner, reseller local search platform, and small business consulting services.
- www.cancersupportnet.com (currently not promoted)
- www.smallbusinessprofile.com (currently in development)
- www.totaltrafficstore.com – Nothing special here, this was an experiment a couple years ago for buying and selling traffic services. I think I spent more than it earned.
- HostingProfessionals.net – An experiment in Webhosting in 2005. The goal was to test the financial barrier to entry with this business model, build some exposure, and measure the ROI. Never did much with this, and have been thinking about resurrecting it
- ShopFifthAve.com, ShopNYCOnline.com, and TheCampList.com are all going to be future experiments in affiliate marketing and sales.
